Last year founder has launched a new company, the YU which announced its first device, the YU Yureka which was powered by one of the world most popular Android custom ROM, the CyanogenMod and for this company has received exclusive rights to sell CM powered devices in India. Over the time Yureka turned to be a great success for the company and still after 4 months it goes out of stock in just few seconds in its flash sale. Now company has announced that its next device will be named as YUPHORIA.
Last month company has announced that they are going to launch a new and successor of Yureka and for this company has asked its users to suggest a name for the device, it was the first time when a company has crowd-sourced names for a flagship smartphone, and users has loved this and company reveled that they have received around 100,000 suggestions from users.
YU had announced #YUNameIt on its social media platforms on 31st March, 2015 and the participants submitted their entries till 3rd April 2015, the final shortlist included names like Yuphoria, Yuknight, Yunicorn, Yunity, and Youth which made it to the voting stage, and were put to test between 4th to 6th April, the consumers’ votes favored YUPHORIA.
Since company is teasing for the launch of this device from some time and also hinted that this device will feature a 64-bit SoC along with 2GB of RAM; 16GB of built-in memory, and runs on CM OS 12 based on Android Lollipop out-of-the-box.
Some of our sources reveals that YU might launch this device some where around the mid of this month, and in terms of pricing, we are expecting it to be around Rs. 10K.
