Last year a new Chinese company Oppo has entered into mobile phone market and launched Oppo N1 which comes with swivel camera and has Cyanogenmod out of the box. However when it was launched in India Cyanogenmod is not there.
Company has launched another phone, Oppo Find 7 which has all features and specs which you can expect from a flagship smartphone which has some new features like new charging technology which can charge your phone super faster.
In-Box Contents of Oppo Find 7 :-
Oppo Find 7 comes in a very minimalist box, rather than putting lots of images on box, Oppo Find 7 box has just Oppo branding and few information at bottom of the box.
When you open box you will find :-
- Oppo Find 7
- A Charger,
- Micro USB cable, yes you will get charger and USB cable seprate which is not seen in many phone’s nowadays
- Headsets
- Ear buds
Build And Design Of Oppo Find 7 :-
Oppo is a Chinese brand but if you are thinking that build quality of Oppo’s phone will be same like other Chinese brands who are selling phone in low price then you have to think again.
Oppo Find 7 comes with a well build design and as soon as you hold phone in your hand you will start to get premium feel. It has 5.5 inch display screen but it doesn’t feel big and in our test we are able to use it one hand without any trouble.
The front of device is mostly acquired by 5.5. inch display screen which has very thin bezel around it, there is no branding at front. Just below screen you will find three android capacitive button, and just below them you will find a below notification lights which glows whenever you will have any notification.
At back you will find a 13 MP rear camera with dual LED flash, just above camera you have secondary camera for noise cancellation, at the middle you will find Oppo branding and at bottom you have speaker grill. Back of this phone has smooth matte finish which gives good grip.
At first we though back panel of this phone is non-removable but it do comes out and has SIM and Memory card slot beneath it. Despite having all plastic body, Oppo Find 7 has metal frame around it.
If we talk about buttons then at left you will find a power button, at top you have a 3.5mm audio jack, at right you will find volume rocker and at bottom you will find a mic and micro USB port. Just above screen you will find front camera, earpiece and sensors.
It has a 5.5 inch QHD display screen with screen resolution of 1440x2560pixels which means it has 538ppi, screen is very sharp and stunning. It has great viewing angles and you can read almost anything when you are under sunlight. Its screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Hardware And Specs of Oppo Find 7 :-
If we talk about under the hood specs then it comes with quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 clocking at 2.5Ghz along with 3GB of RAM, thanks to this high end processor and 3GB RAM we didnt faced any lag while opening and using apps or while surfing websites.
It comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. AT back it has a 13-megapixel rear snapper with a Sony Exmor IMX214 sensor along with dual-LED flash, it also features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and can shoot videos at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, and 720p@120fps. At front it has got a 5-megapixel front camera.
For connectivity it has LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, aGPS, 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. It do support LTE bands which are available in India i;e 2300MHz.
Software And UI of Oppo Find 7 :-
Oppo Find 7 runs on Android 4.3 and top it has ColorOS UI, as most of the flagship smartphone, even so many entry level phone runs on Android KitKat, there is no word on Android Kitkat update from Oppo till now.
Despite of having its own UI, ColorOS UI on top we didnt faced any lag, its clean and easy to use. On first boot you will find Google Apps like Gmail, Drive and some more along with Oppo has also included there own apps like Lock Now, O-Cloud and few more. Most of these apps are quite useful and are meant to secure your device. Oppo Find 7 do comes with some useless Gameloft games.
In some countries Oppo is allowing customers to buy Oppo Find 7 with Cyanogenmod instead of its ColorOS UI, we wish it could be launched in India.
Camera of Oppo Find 7 :-
It has a 13MP camera with dual LED flash, camera did performed well in our test, all images captured with it has very low level of noise and has sharp details and color combinations in it. We are impressed with it camera quality. In low light conditions you will find some noise but even its not so much and its lesser than its competitors.
Rear camera can shoot 4K videos and if you are going to shoot lots of videos than you are going to love this camera. Camera UI is somewhat similar to of Android Camera UI with icons floating over screen.
If you are a selfie lover then you surely gonna love its 5MP front camera which has BIS sensors, images taken with front camera are very good and if you are a selfie lover than we recommend you to take a look on it.
Rear Camera Test
Performance of Oppo Find 7 :-
On paper its specs are good and they are good enough on real life usage as well. Its interface is minimal and lag free, we had played full HD 1080p videos as well 4K videos and they played without any issue. Speakers at back has powerful volume and they did performed very well, even they performed more than our expectation.
Benchmark Score’s
AnTuTu :-
NeNaMark 2
Quadrant Standard
Battery :-
Oppo Find 7 comes with a 3000 mAh battery which has VOOC charging technology, Oppo has said that due to this technology it can be charged from zero to 75 percent in around 30 minutes, in our test we were able to reach this by 33 minutes. In our test battery lasted a day in a moderate usage.
Final Verdict :-
Oppo Find 7 seems to be strong and long lasting device but what we felt is price for a new company can be a game changer and as per us Oppo has somewhat over priced Find 7, even at this price its the cheapest flagship device as compared to other manufactures operating in India like Samsung Galaxy S5, and Sony Xperia Z2.
We liked Oppo Find 7’s build quality, fast charging feature, and it also supports gesture control and comes with double tap to unlock feature. Using gesture control you can set a action to open a particular app and then you can use that gesture from lock screen to open your Camera or any other app.
