Google is adding more and more support to its online docs, Google Docs, we had already told you that Google Docs is a nice and good replacement for MS Office.
Google has recently we had told you that Google has added support for XLS, PPTX, AL, PSD, SVG, TTF, XPS, PS files in Google docs.
Now Google has took a nice step and it allows you to view RAR and ZIP archives files in Docs, many times when we had so many files we go for archives.
So if you got a archives files in your Gmail then you don’t have to first download it then unpack and open it in MS Office or such tools.
If you get any Rar or Zip file as an attachment in your Gmail then you don’t have to download them just click on View.
Now It will open your archive in Google Docs and if you had any support file then you can view them on Google Docs.
When you hover your mouse over the files you will see option which you will see in other uploaded doc files like View, Save To Google Docs or Print as PDF.
ZIP and RAR archives that are embedded inside other archives also work. For example, if you have a RAR file inside a ZIP file you can just click on that file to access the embedded archive.
This feature extends to Google Docs for mobile, too. For each viewable file (including embedded ZIP or RAR archives) there is a link to view.
