Today in a Global event in New Delhi Nokia has announced its new Asha device Asha 501, its an full touch screen phone which main feature is Swip UI, Swip you can do almost all things like close apps, jump to home screen and so on. Its same swipe UI which we had seen in Nokia N9.
It has 3.0 inch QVGA screen with screen resolution of 320 x 240 pixels with hardened glass, it is powered by 1 GHz of processor which is enough for entry level phone. It has 512 MB of RAM with 4 GB of memory card out of box. It runs on new Ash Platform which specially built for Asha phones. It has a battery which supports 17 hours of talktime and up to 48 hours of standby.
This new platform comes with new features like fastlane, swipe UI, fast switching of default SIM. It comes with Nokia Xpress browser which can compress data upto 90% which result minimum data cost. Nokia has also announced Xpress Now which suggest relevant news as per your location.
For connectivity it has Wifi and Micro USB, it misses 3G. Nokia has priced Asha 501 $99 means around 5,400 INR, sales tax extra and it will be launched by June end
