As you are aware that Microsoft is gearing up for the launch of its latest OS, the Windows 10, a preview version is already available and anyone who is interested in it can download and install this preview version on their machine to try new features, but as its a beta version you might find some bugs and error on it. Earlier Microsoft has already announced that Windows 10 will be free upgrade for all Windows 7 or higher users, but today Microsoft has made some unexpected announcement, today Microsoft has said that Windows 10 will be free update for those who are running pirated version of Windows.
Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President Operating Systems, in an telephonic interview to Reuters during the WinHEC technology conference in Shenzhen, China told “We are upgrading all qualified PC’s, genuine and non-genuine, to Windows 10,” The plan is to “re-engage” with the hundreds of millions of users of Windows in China, he said, without elaboration.
Microsoft doesnt told any launch date, however Myerson said that we could expect the Windows 10 to hit the stores this summer in 190 countries.
It seems a nice move from Microsoft as with this they can tackle with piracy in emerging markets, specially in Chinese market as recent studies shows that three-quarters of all PC software in China is unlicensed.
