No doubt that Google Chrome is one of the most popular web browser out there, It is built on WebKit, an open source rendering engine which was developed by Apple and used in Safari web browser. Last month Opera has also adopted WebKit rendering engine after using Presto over a decade.
Now after so much of time Google has announced that they are leaving WebKit and will develop their own rendering engine BLINK, it will be open source too. This will speed up the development of Chrome.
There are currently 2 popular rendering engines Microsoft’s Trident and Mozilla’s Gecko, now an extra render engine will make difficult for web developer to develop and built websites.
By developing their own rendering engine Google will be able to focus more on Chromes architecture and features which they want in Chrome and let WebKit to go on its own way.
