Couple of months back Fly Mobile has launched couple of mobile devices in India, all were entry level devices which comes with some basic functions and provide decent feedback to the users. Today we have got Fly Snap with us (will review rest of the devices soon), which is the most affordable device among all three and it is available at the price tag of Rs. 2,999, which is very much affordable, lets check what this device has got for us and is it worth.
Hands On Video :-
Inbox contents Of Fly Snap :-
When you first open box of Fly Snap you will get :-
- Fly Snap
- Battery

Its nice as Fly is providing a screen guard inside the box.
Build And Design Of Fly Snap :-
In terms of build and design, Fly Snap is a light weight device which anyone can easily hold in one hand, body is made up of plastic and it do feel a cheap device in hands, that’s what it actually is, right? At front you will get a 4 inch WVGA display screen with screen resolution of 800×480 pixels, just below display screen you have three android touch capacitive buttons which do not have backlit buttons but they are finish in silver which means you will be able to view them most of the time.
Above display screen you will find 2 MP camera which you can use to click selfies, if we talk about connectivity and ports then on right side you have plastic buttons of Volume Rockers followed by your power and sleep buttons, these are plastic buttons and give decent amount of feedback.
There is no connectivity ports at bottom or on left side, at top you have micro USB port followed by your 3.5 mm audio jack.
At back you have a 5MP camera with LED flash, back is made up of some smooth plastic which do feel slippery in hand. Fly Snap has got a speaker mesh at the back side of the device which means if you place device on table or any flat surface then might get muffled a bit.
Back panel of this device can be removed and battery will come out, once you remove back panel you will get access to your dual SIM card slots (one is your standard SIM card and another is your micro SIM) and memory card slot as well which allows you to exppand memory up to 32GB
Hardware And Specs of Fly Snap :-
If we talk about hardware specs of this device then it has got 4 inch WVGA display screen, under the hood it is powered by 1.3 GHz Quadcore processor along with Mali 400 and 512MB of RAM. It comes with 4GB of internal storage and out of 1.6GB is available for your usage, one thing which is nice in this phone is that you can install apps on SD card as well by making it as a default write disk.
At back it has got a 5MP camera with LED flash and a 2MP front facing camera, for connectivity it has got Dual SIM, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G and Micro USB.
Software And UI of Fly Snap :-
Fly Snap runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat right out of the box and UI is simple, there are some pre-installed apps which you can find them on this device and they cant be removed unless you root it.
Fly mobile has compromises in RAM and it can be seen in its UI which is a bit laggy when you do multi tasking but its workable, dont forget its price tag.
Camera of Fly Snap :-
Fly Snap comes with a 5MP rear with LED flash, rear camera doesn’t seems to be a auto focused one, it can capture decent images in day light but images clicked under artificial light seems to have lots of noise in it. At front it has got a 2MP front facing camera which can click decent selfies as well, again dont expect too much from it.
Here are some camera sample images :-
Here is a sample video :-
Battery of Fly Snap :-
Fly Snap comes with a 1500 mAh battery which is a bit low and in our average usage it hardly lasted for a day, if you doesnt use phone that much then it can give your nice battery life.
Display of Fly Snap :-
As told earlier Fly Snap comes with a 4inch WVGA display screen which gives decent feedback and viewing angles on this device is again decent, you will be able to screen from extreme angle but when you view it from extreme angle color seems blurry.
Call Quality on Fly Snap :-
In our test we never faced any call drop or any other problem related with calling, we were able to make calls both when we were indoor and outdoor.
Performance of Fly Snap :-
Before talking about performance, we would like to remind you its price tag which is Rs. 2,999/- so adjust your expectations according to it. UI of this device is a bit laggy but you can work on it without any issue, we played Subway surfer on it, games played fine, yes we did noticed frame drop on few occasions but not that much which we were expecting. We did faced some heating on it when we played video for 5 hours in it.
Here are some benchmark test which we have performed on it :-
AnTuTu :- 16414
NenaMark :- 58.8 fps
Multi Touch Points :- 2
Final Verdicts on Fly Snap :-
Fly Snap seems to be a decent device, if you are looking for a device which can give you average performance at the price tag of Rs. 3K than it could be an option. If we leave camer and RAM part than there is very less to complaint about.
Pros :-
- Nice build quality
- Price
- Light weight
- Gesture Control available
Cons :-
- Camera
- Gets heated up
