If you ask me about Coolpad, then it is one of the company whose strategy is something I am not able to understand till now. When I think this company is done with their business in India and now we wont see any further devices from company, and then all of sudden company launch a new device, last month only company has launched Coolpad Cool 3 Plus With Dewdrop Notch Launched In India, which is a budget smartphone which comes with nice build and design which do looks attractive at first look, but how does this device perform, let try to see it in this hands on review of Coolpad Cool 3 Plus.
Build And Design Of Coolpad Cool 3 Plus –
Build is one the thing which we liked most on this smartphone, Coolpad Cool 3 Plus is made up of poly-carbonate but it seems like it has a glass back panel, it has gradient finish and all this make this smartphone easy to get scratches but good thing is that it do comes with a transparent silicon case in the box which you can use with it and safeguard your device.
At rear, you will find a 13MP rear camera along with LED flash and there is a finger print sensor as well which is good to see on an entry level phone.
When it comes to connectivity and ports, then on the right side you will get power/sleep button along with volume rockers, all are plastic buttons which gives okay okay feedback.
At the bottom you will find speaker grill, primary mic and Micro USB port for charging and data transfer.
On the left side you will find SIM slot, it has got hybrid slot which means either you can use two SIMs or one SIM and a micro SD card for memory expansion, and at the top, you will have a 3.5mm audio jack for headphone.
Hardware And Specs Of Coolpad Cool 3 Plus –
As told earlier, this is an entry level smartphone which comes with mid range specs, it flaunts a 5.7-inch display with a dewdrop notch, under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, which is a quad core processor clocked at 2.0GHz along with 2/3GB of RAM and comes with 16/32GB of internal storage which can be further expandable via micro SD card.
For camera, at rear it has 13MP rear snapper along with LED flash, and a 8MP front facing camera for selfie.
Display Of Coolpad Cool 3 Plus –
It comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display, having screen resolution of 720×1520 pixel, I found that it has somewhat blueish tint, and has 19:9 aspect ratio, viewing angles are decent, but as soon as you start tilting phone, colors start to fade out.
Sunlight visibility is also decent and you will be able to use this smartphone in outdoor conditions.
Software And UI Of Coolpad Cool 3 Plus –
When it comes to software front, then Coolpad Cool 3 Plus runs on Android 9.0 Pie, yes it do comes with couple of pre-installed apps, but the good thing over here is that you can uninstall most of them but going into setting.
On home screen when you swipe from left, you will get some useful apps information like recent apps, weather information and lets book a cab from OLA.
Battery Of Coolpad Cool 3 Plus –
Coolpad Cool 3 Plus houses 3000mAh battery which is good enough to provide juice for a day, as it comes with HD+ display only.
Camera Of Coolpad Cool 3 Plus –
Coolpad Cool 3 Plus comes with a 13MP rear snapper which can shoot video at 1080p, images taken with this smartphone do contain good amount of details if they were captured in day light or with good amount of light falling on subject, most of the smartphones in this price tag have this issue so its not something which can be a deal breaker. A good thing is it do supports Camera2Api, which means if any developer want to build Gcam for MediaTek devices or wanna port then in future we can see some stuffs here.
Front camera do comes with AI and portrait mode, but bookeh mode on both rear and front camera need to be work on as sometime it blur then background and sometime not, edge detection is also not so good but we cant complaint much at this price tag.

Performance Of Coolpad Cool 3 Plus –
This phone runs on MediaTek Helio A22 SoC, which is a quad core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and comes in two variant of 2/3GB of RAM with 16/32GB.
This smartphone is good for your day to day basic task but if you are planning to play some high end games then I will suggest you not to do so. You can play PUBG in balance mode.
It comes with dual security as it supports both finger print and face unlock, and good part is that both work very fine, they are not super duper fast but they gets their job done.
Final Verdict –
Price of this smartphone kills most of the things, at this price company is offering you so much that you cant complaint much here. For its price, build is nice, camera works very good and it takes nice images in good lights, and yes you can play PUBG on this device as well.
It comes with a price tag of Rs. 5,999 for 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage and 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which is priced Rs. 6,499, it has Hybrid SIM slot which i don’t like but now you cant do anything for it.
Company can roll out update to fix some issues with camera but we have very low hope for this, lets have our finger crossed and hope for the best.
If you have 6-7K bucks and looking for smartphone, then this could be your choice of option.
