As expected BlackBerry India has launched its latest smartphone, BlackBerry Passport in India which was launched couple of days back, its pre-order will start from today itself on BlackBerry India website and Amazon India and its price Rs. 49,990, Amazon will provide Rs. 5000 worth Amazon gift card and 5000 complimentary miles from Jet airways.
The main USP of this phone is its square display screen which comes with 1:1 of ratio, it has screen of 4.5 inch which has 1440×1440pixels with a pixel density of 453ppi, display screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Under the hood it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor ticking at 2.2GHz paired with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. On storage front, it comes with 32GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.
On photography front, BlackBerry Passport features a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and LED flash, at front it has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, We tested it camera and its good, front camera is decent as well.
It houses a 3,450mAh battery to which company claims is good enough to last up to 30 hours on a single charge.
Just below screen you will have a three-row QWERTY keypad which is touch-enabled, you can either tap on keys to type or just swipe across keys like we do on an on-screen keypad to type. BlackBerry has that this keyboard is four times more accurate than any other virtual keyboards and it will reduce your typo mistakes by up to 74 percent.
For connectivity it comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, NFC, GPS, Glonass, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, and 4G LTE connectivity. It accepts Nano sim. It measure 128×90.3×9.3mm, and weigh 194.4 grams.
It comes with a capacitive touch keyboard, and this entire keyboard also acts like a touch pad for scrolling, panning etc.
As per software front it runs on BlackBerry 10.3 operating system. For Apps it has got BlackBeryy App World which has around 2,40,000 apps, it also comes pre-loaded with Amazon App store for all the Android app needs.
