Couple of months back, in Mobile World Comgress 2015 in Barcelona, BlackBerry has announced a new smartphone, the BlackBerry Leap. Before launch this device has created a lot of buzz and it was the same device which was codenamed BlackBerry Rio. Few days back BlackBerry has announced this device in India and today company has launched this device in India at the price tag of Rs. 21,490 /- and it will be available from tomorrow on all BlackBerry exclusive stores.
If we talk about specs then BlackBerry Leap is an mid-range smartphone which comes with an 5-inch HD IPS display with screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels with a pixel density of 294ppi, under the hood its is powered by a Snapdragon S4 Plus quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with 2GB of RAM and also includes 16GB of internal storage which can be further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.
As per photography front, BlackBerry Leap features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, this camera can shot full HD videos @ 1080p, at front it has got a 2-megapixel selfie camera which is capable of shooting videos at 720p, it houses a 2,800mAh non-removable battery which can last for up to 25 hours of heavy usage.
For connectivity it has got FM Radio, LTE support, Wi-Fi, GPS, Micro USB and Bluetooth, if we talk about software front, then it runs on BlackBerry 10 OS 10.3.1, and comes with BlackBerry Blend, Assistant, and for downloading apps it has got dual app stores, BlackBerry World and Amazon App Store.
At this specs and price tag BlackBerry will compete with Xiaomi Mi 4 64GB and famous OnePlus One 64GB variant which is doing well in market.
