Last year when Apple removed Google maps from its devices and introduced their own Apple Maps then it turns into a big blunder for the company. But company is still improving its Maps and trying to make it better as Google’s one.
Now as per reports Apple has acquired a company WiFiSLAM which develops mobile apps to detect phones location according to WiFi signals.
WiFiSLAM has been co-founders by former Google software engineering intern Joseph Huang. This company develops apps which allows smartphone to locate themselves using Wi-Fi signals that are there in building.
This company offering the technology to apps developers for indoor mapping and new types of retail and social networking apps. Apple has paid $20 million to this startup company.
Google is already offering indoor mapping in certain locations like airports, shopping centers and sports venues.
