Samsung is yet to release Android Lollipop update for its Note series but this is not going to stop developers from releasing custom ROMs for the devices. Now a XDA senior member jamal2367 has successfully ported the unofficial CyanogenMod 12 build to the LTE edition of Galaxy Note 3. As this is an unofficial ROM, some of the features are working and some are not. We dont suggest you to use this as your daily driver and wait for Samsung to release official update.
If you are curious and wanna taste this new ROM then you can do it by following below mention step, but flashing custom ROMs are not advisable for anyone. Pre-requisites :-
- Custom recoveries such as ClockworkMod or, TWRP
- As this process is going to wipe all of your, so do take all of your backup
- Fully charged battery
- Enable USB Debugging
- A rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE (SM-N9005)
- CyanogenMod 12
- Gapps
How To install :-
- Transfer downloaded CyanogenMod 12 and Gapps to your internal SD cards,
- Switch off your phone and boot into recovery by pressing Volume Up, Home and Power buttons at the same time
- In recovery mode select wipe data/ factory reset and perform full wipe
- Now select wipe cache partition option and wipe-up your cache
- Now wipe-up your dalvik cache by going to Advance option->wipe dalvik cache
- Return back to your main menu and select install from install zip from sdcard,
- Now select your downloaded CyanogenMod 12 zip file and flash it, now again flash your Gapps by following same procedure,
- Now reboot your device, first boot may a long time, so dont worry if your phone doesn’t boot-up for 5 minutes
- That’s it, now you have CyanogenMod 12
