Bharti AirTel, the countries biggest telecom company is in talk with US based chip maker company Qualcomm for transfer of Broadband Wireless Access 4G license in New Delhi and Mumbai circles.
Let me remind you that Qualcomm has won the 20MHz of BWA spectrum in the 2.3GHz band on auction held in 2010 for $1 Billion in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala circles. On the other hand Bharti Airtel has won 4G license on just Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kolkata and Punjab.
Recently Airtel has launched countries first ever 4G service in Kolkata and soon they will launch it on Bengaluru and other states too.
According to news Airtel has already paid some processing fee to Qualcomm for the deal and if every thing went smoothly then deal could be finalized till June.
