As expected, after much of waiting, the China-based smartphone maker, Gionee has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Gionee S8 in the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona. It is the world’s first smartphone which comes with invisible loop antenna which strikes a balance between sleek design and excellent signal strength. Gionee has launched it at the price tag of EUR 449 which makes approx Rs 34,000.
One of the unique features of this smartphone is support for ‘Dual WhatsApp’ and ‘Dual WeChat’ which mean users will be able to use multiple accounts of WhatsApp and WeChat on the single device.
When it comes to specs, Gionee S8 flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) AMOLED display with support for 3D Touch pressure sensitive touch technology and can sense 3 levels of force including Touch (To select an application), Tap (To preview the content of an application) and Press (To run an application).
Under the hood, it is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor along with 4GB of RAM and comes 64GB of internal storage.
When it comes to photography front, the Gionee Elife S8 features a 16-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus, and PDAF, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera, it houses a 3,000mAh battery, Hi-Fi and DTS audio support, and a fingerprint scanner which is embedded into the home button.
For connectivity, it supports dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro USB support. On the software front, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
