Last week Xiaomi has announced a big news for Indian fans when they slashed price for its highly popular phablet, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G (Review) from Rs. 9,999 to Rs. 7,999. Now it seems company is ready to make another price slash of its popular entry level smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 (First Impression | Review). Yesterday company has created a new Twitter handle for it Redmi series of smartphone and company has posted a teaser on that Twitter account, and said tomorrow at 10 AM will announce the news.
On Twitter company has asked its users to ‘get ready to change their phones’, and teaser also shows a price tag of Rs. 5,999 which hints that company is planning for another price slash of its popular entry level smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 2.

In past we have seen that company has followed a strategy, first make good products which features best in class specs and features and company price them aggressively, and when product has spent some time in market and people started to lose interest in that product, company slashes its price to gain interest among users again, and it seems company has followed same thing here.
Recently we have seen Coolpad has also slashes price of Dazen 1 (Review) which also compete with Redmi 2, and now its available at Rs. 5999 on Snapdeal.
Just to remind you the specs, Xiaomi Redmi 2 flaunts a 4.7-inch HD IPS display screen with screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels with a pixel density of 312ppi, if we talk about uder the hodd features then it is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
At back it has same 8MP camera with LED flash, at front Redmi 2 has 2MP camera at front, it includes 8GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. It houses a 2,200mAh battery, for connectivity it include dual-SIM card slots, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro USB, as per software front, it will run on MIUI 6 out of the box.
