HOOQ a joint venture of Sony Pictures, Warner Bros Studios and Singtel, many times called as Asia’a Netflix is going to enter Indian market today with its premium video-on-demand service. This service is targeted towards youth where users can enjoy unlimited online streaming access and an offline viewing option to top Hollywood and Indian movie and television content, via any device including computers, smartphones, tablets and Android set-top boxes. This service will be available for a monthly subscription of Rs 199.
HOOQ has collection of more than 5000 Hollywood movies and television series and TV shows from Sony, Warner Bros., Disney, Dreamworks, and Miramax such as Harry Potter, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Pulp Fiction, and TV series such as Nikita, The Shield, Friends, Lost and Grey’s Anatomy which users can enjoy with ease.
On top of Hollywood collection, HOOQ also got an extensive range of over 10,000 Indian film and TV favourites. HOOQ has partnered with country’s top studios, including YRF, UTV Disney, Rajshri, Reliance, Shemaroo, Sri Balaji, AP International, Whacked Out Media and over 50 other studios.
HOOQ allows you to access your account on five devices at a time and you can stream content on two device at the same time. On of the USP of HOOQ is that it allows you to watch content offline also, user can download up to five movies for offline playback, it good as internet connectivity is not so good in country and offline playback will allows you to watch content over and over again without kicking your bandwidth.
Company is continuously targeting emerging market and India is the third market where HOOQ is going to offer its service, earlier HOOQ has entered Philippines and Thailand.
