Today Google has announced that its next version of Android will be named KitKat, earlier it was assumed that Android 4.4 will be known as Key Lime Pie but today Google has made clear on this. This will be first Android version which will be named after any commercial product.
Google has confirmed that neither Google nor Nastle is paying anything to each other for using this brand name. This will be a nice marketing for Nestle too.
Both company met at MWC this year secretly and closed deal. Nestle will produce more than 50 million KitKat chocolate bars with Android branding on it which will be sold in 19 countries including India.
Google’s head of Android, Sundar Pichai, also announced today that Android had crossed a billion device activations which means it activation rise by 100% as on last September it was 500 Million.
